Monday 11th June 2018

A team of senior staff from Polypipe’s Loughborough office will hit the road on the 27th June as part of the ninth annual Keyline Rally, aiming to raise £1,000,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The annual charity fundraiser is organised by Keyline builder’s merchant and involves teams from businesses across the construction industry.

This year’s ‘millionaires’ themed rally will take Polypipe’s Steve Smith and Phil Rotheram through the winding and mountainous French countryside passing through Reims and Grenoble, all the way to Monaco, famous for its glamorous casinos and home of the Grand Prix.

The team will be covering in excess of 2,000 miles over five days in the Polypipe Rally Car, which has been suitably blinged up in keeping with this year’s flashy theme.

In previous years, Polypipe has joined the race behind the wheel of several impressive car creations, including the Batmobile, the Mean Machine, and even a Shrek themed car.

Throughout the Rally challenge, Polypipe’s green cycling team with also be supporting the fundraising efforts by completing a three-day cycling endurance challenge.  Directors and Senior Management Glen Sabin, Steve Kite, John Moss and Chris Brewster will be cycling 300km from Nice to Monto-Carlo, taking on parts of the iconic Tour de France, to raise additional funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

Steve Smith, Cable Protection Category Manager at Polypipe, said: “We are really proud to have been part of the Keyline Rally for the past six years, helping to raise money for such a worthy cause.

“This year’s ‘millionaires’ theme is not just an opportunity for fun fancy dress – but with the help of our incredibly generous sponsors, the Keyline Rally is on track to raise a fantastic £1,000,000 for Prostate Cancer UK since its start nine years ago.”

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We are extremely grateful for Polypipe’s incredible support in the fight against prostate cancer over the past nine years. With the amazing amount of money and awareness raised through the Keyline Rally, we are able to continue to fund vital research into better diagnosis, treatment, prevention and support for men. We wish Steve and Phil from Polypipe the very best of luck with the rally and look forward to seeing their themed outfits for this year!”
