Polypipe Continues Christmas Tradition With Charity Donation

Tuesday 22nd December 2015

Polypipe Civils have ended 2015 by donating over £5,000 and a Christmas craft hamper to Rainbows Hospice for children and young people.

Polypipe raised this year’s funds for their chosen charity through a number of activities including internal charity days and office staff dressing down every Friday throughout the year, as well as a bike ride across Belgium.

Kate Golding, Corporate Partnership Manager at Rainbows, said: “Polypipe have raised money for us for a number of years and we are very grateful for their ongoing efforts. It is through the charitable work of companies, and individuals, that we are able to continue supporting terminally ill children and their families. We look forward to hopefully working with them throughout 2016”

Emma Nicholls, Marketing Manager at Polypipe Civils, said: “At Christmas time we get a chance to reflect on the fundraising we have carried out throughout the year. It is a particularly difficult time for those with a child or family member in the hospice and so we hope that our donation has brought a little bit of cheer this Christmas.”

Polypipe’s charity work extended elsewhere in 2015, with the manufacturer fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK, another charity Polypipe has close connections with, raising £700 through cake sales, charity car washes, raffles and fancy dress days.

Senior management at Polypipe also took part in the Keyline Rally, which involved driving musical themed cars more than 300km from the UK to Lake Como in Italy. Polypipe’s ‘Shrek-mobile’ took part, with the total raised for Prostate Cancer UK totalling £2,000.

The Loughborough manufacturer not only fundraised for other national charities such as Comic Relief and Children in Need, but donated products to various charitable efforts. Hundreds of dogs at the RSPCA Newbrook Farm Animal Centre in Birmingham are now benefitting from a sensory garden, complete with Ridgistorm-XL tunnel, used in animal rehabilitation.

Primal Stampede, an urban assault course at Leeds Docks also used Polypipe’s popular Ridgistorm-XL pipes as a challenging obstacle in their event this Summer. The event raised money for Cash for Kids, a national children’s charity, and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, which raises fund for children’s and cancer charities.

Emma continued: “Our team have close connections with a number of charities and we are incredibly proud of the efforts they have made to fundraise. We know that their hard work will make a real difference to both the local, and wider, community.”
