Polypipe caps off year of fundraising with annual visit to Rainbows Hospice

Wednesday 20th December 2017

With the festive period upon us, Polypipe has been reflecting on 2017 and their ongoing support of local Loughborough children’s charity, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

Through a range of internal and external company fundraising events, Polypipe has raised over £31,000 for Rainbows since 2013.

This year has been no different. Going that extra mile for the local community, Polypipe’s very own cycling veteran, Mick Ives took to the roads to cycle the exact 3,400km route of the 2017 Tour of Italy (Giro d’italia) for Rainbows Hospice, MacMillan, Padraic Sweeney Kidney Research and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

Back in the Polypipe offices, staff have enjoyed numerous fundraising activities including, charity days bake sales and dress down Fridays. Getting festive and seeing in Christmas in style, this month Polypipe staff dusted off their loudest Christmas jumper. On December 14th, Polypipe were proud to deliver a generous hamper of arts and crafts to the children at Rainbows during their annual visit.

Kate Golding, Head of Organisational Giving at Rainbows said, “We are very grateful for Polypipe’s generous donations and continued support over the past four years. The charitable work of companies like Polypipe allow us to make a huge difference to the children we support and their families.”

Rosie Cheetham, Marketing Manager at Polypipe Civils, said: “At Polypipe Civils, we use Christmas as a chance to reflect. We are glad that we can give something back to charities that go above and beyond to help the local and wider community. We look forward to continuing our support into 2018.”

Polypipe’s charity work extended elsewhere in summer as they took to the roads to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK in the annual Keyline Rally.

Ditching their traditional Mini Cooper S for a new Star Wars themed Mercedes CLS, Polypipe directors journeyed the 3,218 mile journey from the UK to Calais in the French Riviera.
