Monday 1st October 2018

Name

Andy Cullum

Job title

Sales and Marketing Director – Polypipe Civils

What is your involvement with GI at Polypipe?

I’ve been involved from the onset. It all started from the changing needs of the construction industry and listening to our clients and customers. On a more practical level I’ve been involved in the marketing, the website, brochures and tech guides and also the JV/partner meetings like Permavoid/STRI to name a few. On a sales side I’ve been involved in the sales and project solutions.

Tell us more about GI. What does it mean to you?

It’s the latest thinking around sustainable drainage systems working in conjunction with Place creation. It’s what came after SuDS.

SuDs enable us to manage water efficiently. We have responded to this challenging market by leading the way, through our intelligently engineered, holistic water management solutions, which aid in the management of water from roof to river

What does GI mean to Polypipe?

Polypipe has always been good at listening to customers and market requirements and being fast to react. It’s an opportunity for us to use its ideas/ technology/products /service to solve customer problems in a simple, efficient and honest approach. Producing collateral dedicated to GI is a way we’ve embraced this way of thinking. Flood mitigation, rainwater storage, reusable resources and innovative ways to encourage trees, vegetation and biodiversity should all be a part of your project design.

What does GI mean to our customers?

It can be a confusing subject with a mixture of hard and soft SuDS solutions required to meet the complex demands of client requirements, project timescales, cost constraints and maintenance.

Our customers can now delve dipper into a practical and sustainable solution to their piping and water systems. We now offer web pages, a design guide and brochure to ensure our solutions are well thought through, fully optimised and dedicated to a safer, sustainable environment.

What can people expect to see more of after our launch of GI?

We’ll be showcasing lots more case studies, solutions, product development and innovation. All of our projects are really exciting and we make sure we capture every moment of them with photographs and reports that get published to our website.

Which do you feel is the most important multi-functional benefit?

Making space for water is really important and can make vast difference to people and the environment. Reducing the risk of flooding is so important for villages, towns and cities and by providing Water Management Solutions, we’ll always be one step ahead of the weather forecast.
