Friday 19th August 2016

Polypipe Ventilation is proud to been co-sponsors of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers J&B Hopkins’ 2016 La Marmotte bicycle challenge.

J&B Hopkins staff took part in the legendary La Marmotte 174km road cycle race in France for amateur cyclists in July of this year, to raise money for a good cause. Not just any race, but one that comes with a total of 5,180 metres of climbing; La Marmotte being one of the toughest courses of any sportive in the world. The J&B Hopkins team however managed an excellent time of 8 hours and 27 minutes!

As a long standing customer of their Domus ducting and Silavent mechanical range, J&B Hopkins approached Polypipe Ventilation for support at the start of the year, who were pleased to co-sponsor for the team’s clothing kit. As keen cyclers, the kit will be used by J&B Hopkins staff at a number of other events over the coming months. Commenting on the new kit, Nick Jones, Building Services Bid Manager, at J&B Hopkins said: “We had lots of comments on how professional it looked, and how good it looked, so that is great.” The team shirts feature the NEW Polypipe Ventilation Bluebrain branding developed for Silavent HRX-aQ Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) appliances.

The Silavent HRX-aQ MVHR appliance intelligently manages air conditions for maximum homeowner comfort. It comes with a wide range of features, including digital humidity control, automated summer bypass and accurate system balancing. Control of these features is achieved via a compact Bluebrain control, which also provides homeowners with helpful maintenance reminders for cleaning and replacing filters to ensure performance of the unit is maximised and air quality maintained.

As with Polypipe Ventilation’s previous Silavent MVHR ranges, the new HRX-aQ remains extremely efficient. When used with a kitchen and one wet room, at typical installation, the HRX-aQ provides an 88% heat exchange performance and boasts a very low Specific Fan Power down to 0.66W/(l/s).

There are eight HRX-aQ models available to suit a wide range of residential properties, including units with a specialist heat exchanger technology to further improve air quality and provide comfortable humidity levels.
