Polypipe Ventilation Expands Silavent Green Line Range With New MEV Unit

Monday 23rd September 2013

Polypipe Ventilation has launched the Silavent Green Line CMX, an extremely compact and highly energy efficient centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) unit, for use in a wide range of residential developments.

At just 125mm in depth and 3.25kg in weight, the (patent pending) Silavent Green Line CMX is one of the most compact and lightweight MEV units on the market, enabling it to be easily installed into a central location such as a loft, cupboard space or even small ceiling voids.  The CMX’s versatile design also means that these units can be installed horizontally or vertically, ensuring ease of installation in limited or awkward spaces.

The CMX has been specifically engineered to extract indoor pollution and draw moisture-laden air out of wet zones such as kitchens and bathrooms via the comprehensive range of Domus duct systems, including Domus Megaduct and Domus Radial. This polluted air is then deposited outside, greatly improving indoor air quality and environmental comfort by reducing humidity within the dwelling.

Manufactured in the UK, the CMX offers extremely low Specific Fan Powers down to 0.24W(l/s), well below the 2010 Building Regulations Part L threshold; this helps to lower the Dwelling Emission Rate (DER), thereby providing a higher SAP rating. An EC motor contributes to the CMX’s impressive energy efficiency and the ingenious design of the unit allows it to be connected directly to Polypipe’s Domus Megaduct 220mm x 90mm duct system, maximising airflow performance as well as significantly reducing system noise.

As with all Polypipe Ventilation products, a great deal of thought has gone into incorporating design benefits to assist the installer at all stages of the project, even transportation and handling as well as installation and commissioning. As well as its high levels of performance, the CMX offers a two port format to enable straightforward and hassle free duct connection. The external casing is manufactured from expanded polypropylene, which not only minimises system noise but is also very lightweight.

To help ensure it will be a ‘fit and forget’ experience, the optional speed and user controls of the CMX enable simple operation and control for the homeowner, making them less likely to experience difficulties that may result in the installer being called back to the property.

When used with Polypipe Ventilation’s Domus rigid or semi-rigid Radial duct systems, along with the Domus Thermal rigid duct insulation system, the Silavent Green Line CMX offers one of the most comprehensive MEV solutions available. Domus duct systems offer improved system performance through the exacting tolerances and engineered fit of the system, whereby pressure drops are minimised and air leakage is virtually eliminated.

Polypipe Ventilation is at the forefront in delivering energy-efficient solutions and plays a vital role in helping customers to achieve the higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes by supplying Energy Saving Trust best practice products.  For further information on the Silavent Green Line CMX MEV appliances or any of Polypipe Ventilation’s solutions, please call 03443 715523.
