Drainage Access and Maintenance

Even the highest-performing, most reliable systems require maintenance at some stage, so ready-made and safe access is always essential.

Regular inspection and maintenance is particularly important to ensure the effective long-term operation of surface water drainage, sewers and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).

Ensuring Optimum Access from The Start
A variety of access techniques can be incorporated into Polypipe systems. For example, the Polystorm geocellular system features Polystorm Inspect and Polystorm Access for horizontal and vertical access into a geocellular structure and our pre-fabricated RIDGISTORMAccess Manholes can be fully engineered to provide access into any drainage system.

Our Ridgistorm-XL system has an optional factory fitted low flow channel increasing velocities of water under low flow, potentially reducing the frequency of maintenance.

When designing, it is important to take into account the required maintenance over the design life of the project, ensuring sufficient and permanent access to all areas of the system.

  • Polystorm - Geocellular System

The tried and tested Polystorm geocellular range is designed to provide retention, attenuation or infiltration at a variety of depths. It is ideally suited to deeper applications and can accommodate a wide range of traffic loadings, from pedestrianised areas to large HGV parks.

  • RIDGISTORMAccess – Manholes

Whether your project calls for stormwater, foul water or combined sewer systems, we can purpose-build high density polyethylene (HDPE) pre-fabricated manholes, providing easy access into a pipeline.
