Scunny Bikers deliver festive cheer to children in hospital

Monday 13th December 2021

Local bikers club Scunny Bikers, delivered some festive cheer to Scunthorpe hospital recently having arranged a toy drive for Children currently undergoing treatment.

Unfortunately the event had to be cancelled last year to the COVID restrictions so this year the group were eager to continue the annual tradition.

Polypipe Building Products Senior Key Account Estimator Gavin Stubbs was the event organiser. He said:

“It is great to be back after we had to cancel last year’s event and this year’s Easter egg run. I want to say a big thank you to the local community for all the donations. Our members absolutely love putting a smile on the children’s’ faces. It is a wonderful way to kick-start our Christmas by donating to our local hospital.”

Disney ward manager, Vikki McAlpline, said:

“We are truly grateful to Scunny Bikers for organising their Christmas toy run. The children’s faces light up when they see all of the fantastic gifts. It’s tough for children in hospital at any time of the year but it’s particularly hard at Christmas. This helps take their mind off what they’re going through.”

Clare Woodard, HTF charity manager, said:

“It is fantastic that Scunny Bikers are able to provide some Christmas cheer to the children in hospital this year. This will make a huge difference to the children on the ward.”
