Cycling to success in the Annecy Challenge 2018

Friday 29th March 2019

In October of 2018, Polypipe Regional Sales Manager Gary Foord, together with a team from Wolseley UK took part in the Challenge Adventure Charities 'Annecy Challenge'.

The challenge, made up of 3 stages covering a distance of 510 miles from Rouen to Annecy, was to raise funds for Challenge Adventure Charities (CAC) along with Polypipe and Wolseley's own charities of choice.

For Polypipe this was our charity partner, Help for Heroes.

The team was made up of Gary (Polypipe), Keith Driscoll (Wolseley UK), Charl Van Vuuren (Bloor Homes) and Stephen (Sammy) Shipton (SB Shipton GW).

Following some fantastic fundraising efforts, the 'Annecy Challenge', and another of the CAC Challenges, the 'Pyrenees Challenge', have raised a brilliant £147,612 for charity! This took the total raised and donated to other charities by CAC to £4,319,731.

Polypipe have been proudly associated sponsors with CAC since the 2012 'Beaune Challenge'. We would to give special mention and thanks to Stuart and Tom Mason-Elliott and all at the CAC for all of their tireless hard work.

The Polypipe/Wolseley team raised £3,141 meaning that when split between our chosen charities meant a fantastic £1,600 donation to be made to Help for Heroes in the name of Polypipe Building Products.

Gary and the team from Wolsely will also be taking in this years 'Mont Ventoux' Challenge. You can find out more about this here.
