Polypipe Building Services supports local foodbank during school holidays

Wednesday 11th August 2021

Polypipe Building Services has played its part in ensuring children from local schools get fed during the summer holidays, by donating provisions to the neighbouring Larkfield Community Church Food Bank in Aylesford.

During term-time 1.7 million school children receive free school meals across the UK, a number which has been on the rise since 2018. Although the summer holidays are a time to unwind and recharge after months of education, they do present challenges for many parents to feed their children quality meals.

Thankfully, local volunteer-led foodbanks provide a remedy to this year-on challenge, equipping parents with the provisions they need to ensure their little ones stay healthy and sustained during the eventful summer holidays.

As a company invested in its community, Polypipe Building Services was glad to support a local foodbank through the latter half of this period. From 9-12th August, Polypipe Building Services took food donations for the Larkfield Community Church Food Bank, with long-life provisions including cereal, tinned foods and condiments.

Speaking of the news Clare Hawkes, Head of HR and L&D from Polypipe Building Services said: “Here at Polypipe Building Services it is important for us to support our local communities. Polypipe Building Services was all too glad to help support a much-loved local foodbank at a vital time where its services are needed now more than ever.”
