Polypipe to Give Local Communities across UK a True Warmth Fix for Winter

Tuesday 17th January 2017

Polypipe is lending a helping hand to charities and community groups across the UK that may be struggling to keep their facilities functioning during the coldest months of the year.

Severe cold weather brings an assortment of potential problems, from frozen pipes to overworked heating systems, which can force those in greatest need out of their facilities. It can cost £50 upwards for an emergency plumbing call out, and that can often put a strain on available funds. Polypipe wants to provide some practical and timely help when catastrophe occurs.

Polypipe will be looking to identify community groups or charities who are encountering heating and plumbing problems with their facilities. They are encouraged to get in contact with Polypipe through Twitter using @PolypipeTrade and @PolypipeHome accounts.

We are pledging to provide products and materials to fix an outstanding plumbing problem, or to lead the search and cover the cost for a qualified plumber to offer assistance for stricken groups. The pledge is part of the company’s #TrueWarmthFix social media campaign taking place during January and February.

Between 10th and 22nd January we will be focusing our efforts in the North of England, from Carlisle to Staffordshire, Liverpool to Hull, with other parts of the United Kingdom receiving attention later in the campaign, so please keep an eye on @PolypipeTrade and @PolypipeHome for details.

Rachel Smith, Head of Marketing, Polypipe Building Products, comments: “We understand how sudden plumbing and heating issues can cause great disruption and discomfort in the middle of winter, especially for groups that depend on a specific meeting place, place of worship, or community centre.

“Polypipe wants to provide a True Warmth Fix by ensuring heating and plumbing facilities are put back into action as soon as possible, with minimal disruption, so we are using the power and speed of social media, as well as our national coverage, to identify cases where we are able to assist.”

To help people get their True Warmth Fix this January, Polypipe is also giving away a luxury getaway. For more information, click here.
